TUESDAY - Brother Dowlern came and picked us up to take us to the church, he decided to take all the back roads there... which was a big mistake! So I was 35 minutes late to the trainers meeting. I walked in and they were watching a district video, afterwards they gave us our companions. I was the first, I went up and sat in front of all the new missionaries, they all introduced themselves and then President Durrant asked my companion to come up haha, he said they should know by the Spirit if I'm their companion. Elder Dominguez! From California, yet to have one from Utah haha, Great guy, I'm way excited. Anyway we called everyone after, I hate hate hate hate being on a bike for this reason alone! That we have to find rides everywhere! We didn't find anything, so we waited an hour and a half before finally being picked up by Sister Kliens Brother in law. We ate pizza with the departing missionaries and with President and his family. We got back and he unpacked and then we went straight to planning for the day and talking about the investigatores we have and then left to go tracting, had one lesson and then came back to be picked up by Tim Morris to go get some food for Elder Dominguez, we shopped for about 25 minutes and then came back to meet Hno Castro who brought us pizza for dinner. We ate and then went to our lesson with Barbra Francis and taught the Plan of Salvation and she was balling the whole time! We set a baptismal date for the 14th of April and she accepted with ease and excitement. When walking out just full of the spirit, I was happy that his first day was like so. It was really good for him. We headed back to meet Bro Mata and he gave us his trek bike for Elder Dominguez.
WEDNESDAY - Up and to District meeting, we brought lunch to eat there and the meeting was really good. We all went through our goals for April and talked about finding in other ways other than tracking. We ate after and then headed back to the apartment, as I got to a light I looked back to see Elder Dominguez way way way back there, his chain had kept falling off and so we went back to get the other bike and headed out to work. We tracked and found nothing, no one wanted to listen. We are still trying to get in the click of teaching together but once we do it should be really good! We visited a few people, first Jose Guzman, poor guy... He was getting kicked out of his house with no place to go, no job, nothing. Its amazing how not being able to see well can effect you. No one wants to hire him, so he has no money, no car, no home. We said a prayer and he was crying and I felt so bad after... I wanted to help but not much we can do, we told him to let us know how everything plays out. We then went and I introduced Fernando to my new companion, we didn't have much time because we had dinner soon, which we ended up taking all the way down to the other elders because Elder Falk hurt his foot again so he is on bed rest again, poor guy. We ate and enjoyed one anothers company. We headed back to grab our progress sheet and headed to the church for correlation, it was good! I just love the Prices, they are simply the best.
THURSDAY - We got up and went and mowed this girls lawn, she had been calling us for ever asking us to come but we have no tools! So We told Fernando yesterday and he offered to help, so we went. Elder Dominguez and Fernando worked on the lawn and I fixed the fence. It was really good service. After we went to WalMart to get a few things and Fernando bought lunch for us and we went back to his house to eat. After we got back we started planning until the Dowlerns came and got us for dinner, dinner was fun but we could not get out of there! Old people talk a ton! We finally got out and got back. Javier Segobia was there but we were late because of dinner so we rescheduled. We visited Janet Dominguez, set up another appointment and then waited for Barbra to get back to us, she ended up getting back to late so we didn't have the opportunity to go see her :(
FRIDAY - Studies seemed so much longer even thought its only one hour more it seemed to drag forever though. More tracking and more nothing, didn't even talk to many people. Sister Klien called and said she had gotten our cereal. I love that member too, she is one of my favorites. We met her back at the apartment and got our cereal and had about an hour till dinner so we decided because our apartment was a mess we NEEDED to clean it, so we started till dinner, we went to dinner and had Papusas like usual at sister Rodriguezes house haha, We came back and continued cleaning cause it was getting dark so not a whole lot today happened.
SATURDAY - CONFERENCE! I'm so excited. I had no white shirts so I had to do laundry in the morning, it didn't take to long so we were picked up by Tim by 9:30 and headed to get the other elders. We found out that president went to their apartment and said they will not spend another night there. Its one of the ugliest and dangerous places in all of Dallas haha, so they are moving first. We went to El Rio Grande to get meat to make Fajitas between conference sessions and then headed to the church. Loved conference, didn't take as much notes as last time but I loved it! After the first session, we shot hoops while we waited, we started a game of Monopoly too but didn't finish. The second one started and Fernando came with his girls and was the only one in the Spanish room, I felt bad so I went and watched a talk in Spanish in there with him and understood, every word. It was way good, then I went back into the chapel and after we finished we started grilling and oh my gosh the most amazing meat I have ever tasted!! SO GOOD! we got done and Priesthood session started and was really good, Bednar spoke and I just love when he speaks, him and Holland are my favorite. After it ended we went to Wal mart with Fernando to get some things for tomorrow, stuff to snack on and a few things that Elder Dominguez needed. I FORGOT TO MENTION, so on our way to the first session we saw a HUGE new camaro.... LIMO! it was so cool. Anyway that's how we ended our night, wal mart was packed with crazy people of course, here in the Grove that's what you expect. A sick world we live in, that is all I will say. I'm happy though, I was full of happiness and joy from hearing the words of living prophets and apostles and also Barbra came to both sessions so I'm super happy.
SUNDAY - Another day of this wonderful privilege we have to hear from inspired men of God. It went by fast! We had dinner with the Connyers and it was like last second Nachos... YUCK! We ate and then headed to the church to get our bikes and head home when we got a call from Fernando saying his daughter was in the hospital! So we told him to come get us and we went to give her a blessing, little did we know that it was DOWNTOWN! out of our zone... uh oh haha, but it was SO cool to see the city at night, I saw the American Airlines Arena for the first time which was cool, we gave a blessing to her at the children's hospital, HUGE hospital. Then we headed home driving through the bright lights in the city of Dallas. We were listening to children's songs and I was just laughing at how dumb the lyrics were haha, it was a great night. Slow in the work this week but we were very well treated this conference and now look to set this area on fire with dates and the truth, thanks everyone for reading, I love yall.
