TUESDAY - In district meeting today we talked about how we should
count numbers and we also started our zone contest! Whoever could find
the most change while tracting and also the most Lessons taught with
members present. We are super excited! District meeting we talked about
Faith as well and then we met up with Brother Reynolds after and he
came with us to visit a bunch of people who were not there! So we
visited a less active and she had a ton of questions and was antied big
time and so we cleared it all up really well. We knocked on some doors
before heading to the Whitmans for dinner which was really good! Spaghetti!! Then we went to the church to have a lesson with Brent and
it was really good as well, his concern is one I have never heard
before... he thinks the Book of Mormon is way to violent and bloody.
Even though the Old Testament is just as bad or in my opinion worse! He
kept getting off subject but he is a really nice guy. We had our Stake
presidents report meeting and enjoyed hearing and visiting with
President Wagley and President Durrant. Lui came out with us after that
to a few appointments and we didn't get in anywhere but it was still a
good night.
WEDNESDAY - We had to take a nap during lunch because we were so
exhausted and it was fantastic! We then met up with Brother Schroder and
went out to teach some people and got in with Brady and taught the
Restoration and set yet another date. But he isn't in our area. After we
decided we best go down to the dealership and find out how much it would
cost us to get a new mirror for the car and of course this happens when
we are doing that! A deer running across the road RUNS INTO US! leaving
a big dent on the side in the back! DEER ARE NUTS! They are suicide
animals... So we had to fill out reports for both the deer and the
mirror haha. Denisha canceled and then we had a long conversation with
one of our investigators who is struggling with finances so we tried to
get some help there and then we visited Lois who we talked to for a bit
before heading to knock a few doors before dinner which was alright.
Mole isn't my favorite but I'll eat it for sure. Hermana Cadenas is
awesome anyway. Then we headed to the church to meet brother Gilley to
go out and visit a guy named Charles and we get in and teach the
Restoration and set another date! Pretty good day to top it off we
visited Marlene and had another really good lesson with her and then
went to visit Candelario for a "no idea" lesson because he has been
taught everything already 6 times!
THURSDAY - Planning session yay! Visited a few people before
heading to dinner that night with the Wirth family and then going to the
church for a quick lesson with Kiki and then we went out and did our
weekly visits and only got in one house! Rough day.
FRIDAY - Tried to go to wal mart to hand out fliers for the
activity tomorrow and they were not very nice when we asked about it...
at least we asked right? We still handed out about 140 of them and just
went nuts! We also found like 3 quarters! We are killing it in the
contest. We spent some time in Kilgore and worked through dinner till we
invited everyone we could.
SATURDAY - 15 MONTHS IN THE MISSION! Day of the activity! We were
super excited! We had lunch at the church because we had to fill up the
font for the Buck family and then we made a new cup lesson and went out
to tract a little before our lesson at 3 which seemed like it was going
to be awesome but it canceled... well even worse! She said she would be
there and then nothing.... So we had Subway before heading to the
activity expecting 100's of people! 7. 7 people. UGH!!! We worked so
hard for this and we didn't have anyone! We started a fast so we just
left running after the movie and forgot about refreshments and went
tracting. You would think that our night couldn't get any worse right?
wrong. We start knocking this apartment complex and a guy tells us to
leave and then we ignore him thinking he is just some crazy Mormon hater
like most people out here. We move on and knock the next door. He was a
cop. He called in another cop and we both got criminal trespassing on
our licenses. We were words away from going to jail. But we got home
safe and slept super well :)
SUNDAY - Good Sabbath day, we had 0 in Spanish and 2 at church in
English so wasn't to bad. We ended our fast at the Sorensens with some
delicious and wonderful sloppy joe (The good stuff!) and salad and home
made ice cream. We visited some people before going to do numbers to end
our week. Kind of a slump this week but President Durrant is super
proud of what we are doing out here as Zone Leaders! Also Elder Chappell
and I killed in the change competition in finding $1.76. Winners! Thanks
for following everyone and I love you all! Hasta ver.
Elder Aaron Jackson
