Week of Miracles

MONDAY - Studies and emails quickly so that Elder Rouse had time to pack. We finished and headed over to the other elders apartment and I cut my hair and we headed off to Lindale to pick up Elder Chappell and drop off Elder Rouse. We ate some McDonald's as we waited for the bus to come and then we headed back to Lindale. My new companion is awesome (as usual) He is from Chicago and plays ball. FINALLY someone who plays ball. We ran back to the other elders to grab my planner and my camera and headed to an FHE at the branch building; tracted a little bit before hitting the sack. Long day.

TUESDAY - We got up and ran to the store in the morning because we had NO food. We then got back and did all our studies and then went to District meeting and had a way good meeting on obedience. We visited a Less Active and she talked and talked and talked so we didn't get out for an hour or so. We then went tracting a little bit and found 2 new investigators in Spanish. Maria and Maria... No surprise there! We then had a way good lesson with the Albas and they have been reading which is way good. We talked a little bit about what they read and helped them with a few words they didn't understand and then we ran back to the apartment where a sister in the ward ordered pizza that was waiting for us. We had to cancel with the Sadlers because we didn't have a man with us :(

WEDNESDAY - We went tracting and the first door we knock we get in and try and set a date with this guy and he says no and just like that we are on our way with that feeling of "Oh man... I wish they would accept" but at the same time the feeling of, We just saved a lot of time to do other more important things. It's something I have learned out here is if they aren't going to progress leave them. There are so many great people that "say" they want to know when really they have this shield over there hearts and they harden them making it impossible for them to know of the the truth. We Had a really good day today though, we went to the Supermarcado and contacted a TON. We had 38 contacts for the day and then we ran to The Florez family for dinner and left (as always) about to burst like the gum chewer on Willy Wonka who turned into a blueberry. We went out with Hno Solis and visited a few Less Active families and then ended our night.

THURSDAY - OLYMPICS FOR THE TDM!!!! We drove down to Tyler and got there at 7:30 or so and played some bball with President Durrant and the other elders in the zone. It was so good to see Elder Dominguez and everyone else! We are probably the only companionship in the mission that both can dunk. So when the Olympics started with several Physical events and Scripture and smart events we did an awesome job. We won gold in two of the events and bronze in 2. We got gold in contacts the day before with 38 contacts and then in free throws (OF COURSE) with 41 in 3 minutes. We got bronze in push ups and I think volley ball bumps or something like that. It was a ton of fun!! The meetings were really good too, President is just so inspiring. We left to go back to Longview and I got word that Alex, a guy I taught in D10 got baptized!!! I was so happy! I was on exchanges with Elder Treasure and we went to have dinner at the Johnstons and then went and taught 2 lessons with Brother Sellers and one Spanish lesson.

FRIDAY - I was so sore waking up it was crazy! It didn't help that almost everyone we talked to today was really mean! We tracted for hours until we picked up dinner at 4 and ate and then had some good lessons planned for the night. We taught Robert and Chelsey and then we drove to our meeting spot to meet Idabel to exchange back and we had some tasty blizzards while waiting. Long day of work and not a whole lot of success but that's alright.

SATURDAY - This is the highlight of the week right here! CRAZY DAY!! MIRACLES! We planned out about 6 hours to just tract and the first door we knock we get in and teach this guy from Honduras and he says he has not been baptized... In Texas?!?!? some one who is not baptized!!?? So we set a date him! Inviting is key! I feel so confident when inviting people to be baptized now, cause I know its one of the most important things anyone can do. We then knocked for a bit more and the very next door we got in set another date with a guy named Adrian. BOOM! Were we done though? Nope. So we head to do some English work and we pull into this apartment complex and we are about to get out and I say to Elder Chappell "You know what elder... lets pray and see if this is really where Heavenly Father wants us" So we did. We both felt right after that it was not it. That we needed to be somewhere else. As we pulled out we saw another complex across the street and my companion asked about that and I said "Lets find the ones we originally picked out to knock" So we went and found them and we got out and Elder Chappell asked where to start and I pointed to the area where we parked and the first door we knocked we got in and the family had just moved in and was looking for a church and the wife had been praying for guidance and help in her life and for an answer from God. We were that answer and I testify of that. We were guided by the Holy Ghost to their doorstep to bring the true and everlasting Gospel to them. Because we are the only ones who have it here on the earth. No one else does. After we set a date with them both as well. I love this work. We went to dinner and then had a lesson with Candelario before ending a 4 baptismal date Saturday.

SUNDAY - Long Sunday, didn't get out of church till about 5:30 but it was a good one. Had some success in the night and got numbers all done. What a week! Week of miracles. I love this work and I love this Gospel because I know it is true. The Spirit says it and the Scriptures say it. Love you all!
