TUESDAY - A year ago today Elder Lee and I were riding our bikes and
we taught a drunk guy in his car and he got out and peed on his tire
hahaha, not sure if you remember reading that or not? Crazy stuff. Today
we had our Zone meeting and it was really good, we have some of the
best Elders in the mission that's for sure! It was really good and after
we headed to Genghis Grill for lunch and it was amazing as usual,
becoming my favorite and Texas of course! We ate and then we headed back
to the apartment to start the Stake presidents report and that took
about 3 hours to get all the calls done around the zone and east side of
Texas! We finished and we grabbed a quick bite to eat and headed out
the door and started visiting the less actives on the list because
knocking... well if I had a dime for every slammed door in my face like I
said before, I would have enough money to build a Temple here in
Longview! We visited them all day and did not have much luck at all. We
also put up some fliers at some Mexican restaurants for our English
classes and then we ended our night.
WEDNESDAY - Today we spent another 3 hours in the apartment
finishing the report and at 3 we got out again and contacted some more
of the people on the list. We went and visited brother prince and he I
tell you is nuts! Told us some crazy stuff! We ate dinner with the
Schroeder family and had Taco soup and it was super good! Brother
Schroeder is so so funny! We visited a few more people before meeting
Hno Flores at the church and then going over to Marlenes to have a very
powerful lesson about how she needs to make a decision and that she
needs to act upon that decision. Then we visited the Aleman family and
had a long talk with them and were late getting home. But it was still
good. We are just sick of being in the apartment all day long! and it
doesn't stop... tomorrow we have planning day! YAYYYYY!!!!!! :/.......
THURSDAY - Planning was rough today and we just wanted to get out
and work! We had dinner with the Johnstons and it was amazing as usual!
Then we passed a few ward mission plans out and headed to the church to
meet up with bro Johansen and we headed to Charles house for a lesson.
It was really good, we taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ and used the
egg lesson. He enjoyed it and promised to be at church on Sunday. We
gave a ward mission plan to the Muses and they have the coolest house
ever, a pool that made my heart just ache because I have never wanted to
go swimming more bad in my life than now haha, also they had a skunk
out there!! Texas is crazy you got armadillos, racoons, and crazy
looking lizards and bugs ALL over the place! I love it. Its fun and
crazy out here in good ol Texas! We ended our night there and headed
home.
FRIDAY - Our first whole day to work YAY!!!!! We went to Kilgore
today which was way more effective than staying in Longview and getting
rejected every door. We visited some members but none were at home so we
did some knocking and had a lesson and I tell you it felt so wonderful
to teach the first lesson again! Like a refreshing spirtual power flying
through my very soul! Loved it, the lady was very sweet and
understanding and we did a killer job at teaching. I love this work.
There is nothing better. We came back to Longview for dinner just amazed
at how time flew, we had some potatoes and chicken with the Henderson
family and then went to the church to meet Brent and Andy for a lesson.
We talked about why there is so much violence in the BOM and we talked
about the Word of Wisdom. He has a problem with coffee and tea but we
will work with him. We waited around for hispanics to show up for our
English class but had no luck. Nobody came so we helped the young single
adults set up for their activity and then we headed out. The weather is
 so nice! So much cooler!
SATURDAY - Didn't hit me until that morning that it was transfer
calls! WOW! We worked down in Kilgore again today and didn't get very
much, we tracted a very hispanic area and they were all covered in the
stench of apostasy! We tried to call them to repentance but we had no
luck! We came back to Longview to visit a few others before having yet
another wonderfully prepared Hispanic dinner with the Plasencias who I
LOVE! Funniest family ever! We ate cactus and some very good meat and
then headed out to keep working. This is where the world gets just a bit
smaller. So we visited the librarian in the ward and she let us in and
we gave her a ward mission plan and then she offered some ice cream
before we left and I of course said yes! because we were about to start
our fast. We waited for her to get the ice cream and we looked at her
pictures when I saw sitting on her shelf a picture of one of my most
favorite teachers in 7th grade who Austin and Aubrey both know very
well. Mrs. Johnson! The librarian is her Grandma! Small small world! We
tried to visit Candelario and had no luck. Well no calls which means I
get to stay and I'm so so happy about that, love this area and my
companion so I'm super happy about that!
SUNDAY - No investigators in Spanish today but we did get asked
to share our testimonies on the love of Jesus Christ and then we had to
translate from Spanish to English which was weird but really fun!
English we had 5 Non members in Sacrament meeting! Charles and Brent
were there and also we had a few others. It was really good. We had an
awesome second hour and then by 3rd hour my head was throbbing due to
fasting. I think I'm done with this whole once a week fasting. I mean it
was great and the power is incredible that comes from fasting but I'm
going to stop. We had some delicious food at the Monsivais families
house and then went out to work, went to Marlenes and got on her case
for not coming to church and to Candelarios house as well. We got
numbers done at 10:10 and came back and dropped dead! Thanks for
following everyone! Sorry for this boring blog, we were inside the
whole day  so not a whole lot happened. Next week will be better I
promise!
Love,
Elder Aaron Jackson
